Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that treats patients with improper positioning of the teeth which results in an improper bite. One of the conditions orthodontics can treat is overcrowding, where there is an insufficient amount of space for the normal growth and development of adult teeth. Orthodontics can also be a benefit with straightening misaligned teeth to make a beautiful smile. Orthodontics can also work to reshape and restructure the lips, jaw or face.
Fixed orthodontic braces-A metal or ceramic dental base is affixed to each tooth, and a dental wire is inserted through each base. Dr. Clark is able to gradually train the teeth into proper alignment by regularly adjusting the wire. When the desired results are achieved, the fixed dental braces are completely removed.
